Gertrud Lönegren

Gertrud Margareta Jerkman (maiden name Lönegren) (1905-1970) was a Swedish ceramist and designer. She studied at ”Konstfack” in Stockholm and the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna. She worked for the St. Erik Lervarufabrik in Uppsala betwen 1932-36 and for Rörstrand between 1936-41. Lönegren became a prominent artist of high-quality stoneware, often with earthy colors and distinct relief patterns. Her work is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design, the Röhsska Museum and the Höganäs Museum.
