Ponti was a human oxymoron: eclectic and rationalist, figurative and abstract, prophet of the avant-garde and protector of tradition. De Poli was his hand, his pupil, the man of colour. Everything was born of sketches on cardboard and two-millimetre-high copper plates: genius needed nothing else. - Alessandra Troncana (Corriere Della Serra)
